I've decided I want to move the instruments above the companionway hatch. I'm thinking I'll find/build a housing that will be permanent to the hatch cover (stern end), then have a wire harness below with a certain amount of slack.
Anyone with experience, and do's or don'ts. Or is it a bad idea for some reason?
I have an ST60 package, so the wiring is relatively easy.

IMHO, it ain't a big boat: think about what the CREW will be dealing with while changing sides during tacks. If it slows them down, don't blame them!
