If you want the boat to sail as well as possible you should really try to stick with the class max pin to pin headstay length. It's in the class rules section. This assumes and only really works well if the rudder is pinned in the correct position: The trailing edge of the board and rudder should be exactly parallel.

As to bend or prebend, I'm NOT one of those who recommends setting THIS BOAT up with any prebend because to do so takes a ridiculous amount of rig tension and looses your lower gears. Especially for sailing in choppy waters relative to wind strength [the Gulf of Mexico, Mobile Bay, etc] you need those low gears to get the most from the boat.

Someone like Tom Elsen or one of the other forum members should have the current rigging specs............................... if they differ from the OEM.

Enjoy it, the 7.9 is a great all around boat. It does everything well, some things very well. I just wish it would plane [not surf]!!!!
Oh well, all boats are floating compromises and the 7.9 is a darn good one, one of the best out there.
