Port spreader broke?

Racing in Big breeze and Big waves, port speader broke coming up the back side of a huge roller WTF?This is a new mast a year old and the speader bar broke why?I still have the old speader bar from the last broken mast , has this happend to any one else or is hull 465 cursed?

Did you have your turnbuckles locked? A lower shroud that was too loose or became too loose would let the spreader root move too far forward, REALLY loading up the spreader attachments, especially when slamming into a big wave!
