Upgrade to many items

Post by frankfreedom »

Hello all,

We are looking for a few items and advices, so here they are:

Anyone has the drawings or sketch with dimensions of the wood table that goes on pintles in the cabin then is stowed away in the front berth when not in usage?

Is Mini craft still the place to go for gel coat?

Anyone can tell me about shroud tension adjustment if we don't have the tension meter?

Where is the best place to get info about being better with a spinnaker?

Thank you all

Mini Craft is still the place to go for gel coat... they have the proper mix to match the original color.

Shroud tension (rough settings) are easy... set the pin length as prescribed in the Doyle Boston tuning guide of the forestay...
Then make sure the rig is straight (vertical) use a halyard swung to the chainplates on each side.
Then set pre-bend before backstay is on, by tightening the lowers until you get about 1 inch of prebend (measured as maximum deflection with the mainsail halyard against the back of the mast resting at the gooseneck, you'd note prebend is distance the halyard is away from the back of the mast, halfway up.

Now go sailing.

upwind with about 15-20 degrees of heel, adjust out the slop of the leeward shrouds (count turns you do) then tack and apply the same to the opposite side.

Now you are rough tuned.

Get better with a spinnaker, by watching the pros (online, and in person), and practice practice practice... Let me know how that works, we could use it too.
