Deck Paint
I am curious what deck paints you folks are using these days?

Re: Deck Paint
between the life-span and the repairs (deckstep) and other replaced deck gear, I painted the deck 10-yrs ago with Petit Easypoxy.
So it is way past time to repaint it.
I was curious what others have been doing.

Re: Deck Paint
After applying the Petit single part paint I don't think you'll be able to use a two part paint. I've used the Interlux single part paint with good success.
Re: Deck Paint
o.k. Yes that is kind of what I learned. Thanks for the response.
I am going to put the Petit Easypoxy back on again over the prep-ed old surface but now I will add their new product that tries to make them compete with the more durable two-part deck/topside paint.
I hope to report back at some point down the line on how it works.
This is the data from Petit as follows:
EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer - New for 2017! Topside Finish Performance Enhancing Additive - 3021
Increases gloss, hardness and longevity of Pettit solvent based topside finishes
Provides the durability and gloss of linear polyurethanes with the ease of use of enamels and one-part polyurethanes.
Increases flow out of brush strokes and roller stipple, providing a mirror-like high gloss finish.
EZ-Poxy Performance Enhancer is an additive that can be used in all Pettit high gloss solvent based topside paints: EZ-Poxy, EZ-Decks, EZ- Bilge and Varnishes. Its advanced formulation polymers within the paint film, providing exceptional durability, gloss-retention, scratch resistance and longevity. Unlike other two-part urethane, paints catalyzed with this hardener can be applied over well adhered one-part finishes. EZ-Poxy PE truly makes achieving a high quality, long lasting yacht finish easy. Product #3021 - Half Pint (8 Oz. Can) per for one gallon of paint

Re: Deck Paint
This sounds like your best method. Trying to remove the existing single part paint to allow application of a two part finish would be near impossible. My experiences with Petit have always been good. Let us know how you make out.
