Used or replacement mast??
Yesterday I was raising my mast on Winnipeg, and the shackle to the main sheet block I was using to raise it gave way sending my mast crashing to the deck.. she’s broken in three places... I’d really like to get a new or used one, I believe all of my hardware is still in tact so I don’t need a total rebuild. A used one would be ideal because School hogs most of my funds. Anyone have any leads? I’m not super into racing mostly just cruising the gulf coast.

Scroll down to the bottom of the front page at s279.org. Class members can buy new mast blanks like you are looking for @ $900 each. I suspect you would be hard-pressed to find a used one for any less.
I'm sure one of the more seasoned veterans will chime in with more details...

I often wondered, is that a finished mast, or a blank that needs cut outs, welding, and hardware?

Re: Used or replacement mast??
Thanks for the reply guys. I found the post and it looks like its 1500 if you are a member less than 12 months. I've only owned the boat for 6... that's a serious bummer. id be curious to know about that too does "blank" mean its cut to size and that's it? anyone have any idea how difficult it would be for a new boat owner to make a blank mast a complete mast without experience? I mean, I know how to turn a wrench but my experience is pretty limited with rigging. also, I would assume that doesn't include shipping.... between my new rudder I had to buy and this mast its looking like I'm gonna be damn near the price of a new boat all together...I wonder how much a mastless S27.9 would fetch on the interwebs=/
