I priced the Garhauer components and decided to build my own.
It took a piece of 6061 2 1/2" bar, a short piece of 3/4" stainless four stainless steel needle bearings
and a couple hours on the lathe.
I only sail in fresh water (well, not salty, anyway) so I wasn't concerned about corrosion on the machined sheeves.
The deck sheeves have bearings with ID to match the existing bolts. On the lower end I disassembled the original
stainless fiddle block and only used the slide plates and side straps.
I became concerned about the load pulling the bolts out of square. I decided to use 3/4" ID bearings and to put a 3/4" stainless spacer around the bolt for the bearings to run on.
It seems to work alright, but I am considering adding a stainless triangle with flanges formed on each edge
to place between the top of the dagger board on the side with the block, and pick up the three bolts, to prevent the
weight bending the original stainless tab, as its load is off center.
