I need to replace the main & genoa sheets. Any recommendations for brand and diameter ? Is 60' with an eye correct for the main, and 2 45 ' ( or 90' ) for the genoa the proper lenghts?
Thanks in advance..

Re: Sheet Replacements
owners manual shows the Main sheet at 60'. It can have an eye splice in one end, or you can tie a bowline to the lower block in the tackle - that way you can end-for-end it in a couple of years and get longer life. The Genoa sheets are listed at 35' - we prefer 3/8" Samson Trophy Braid for the Genny sheets since it has a nice hand and wears well on the winches, doesn't hockle much. Our current main is 3/8" New England Ropes StaSet, but it is worn enough to not be as slippery as new line can be.
Thanks,

Thanks for the info... The spec sheet I downloaded has the jib sheets at 45' . I thought that is a little long.. I wanted to get some stuff ordered before I have access to the boat..

Re: Sheet Replacements
You can get by with less jib/genoa sheet by forgoing the old "always over the pole" thingy. I leave the sheets on the deck and set the pole over them. On the douse it's a very simple matter to unclip the guy end of the pole while the crew free flies the sail into the drop zone and with the pole still hanging by the topping lift, the foredeck picks up either genoa sheet, pushes the forward end of the pole down and aft and tucks it under the sheet while someone else lowers the pole to the deck as soon as that happens. The foredeck is now clear for a tack.
Re: Sheet Replacements
for us, generally, the genny sheet is over the pole right after the set and drops during the gibe. then the pole dip as Dave describes during takedown to minimize the effort to get to the "CLEAR TO TACK" call from our bowman.
