in any case, make sure you get the correct T-Ball fittings on the upper ends.

Thanks, Guy's, hope all goes well. The turnbuckle threads looked a bit stripped, and I was afraid they would let go. The cables looked good, but was told its all or nothing when replacing.
Think I'll like the open turnbuckles much better

I replaced everything on Odyssey last season with the exception of the backstay. So, new forestay, inner and outer shrouds everything with new trunbuckles. Ordered from Rigging Only.
I had to shim my mast up 1/4" or the turnbuckles bottomed out. Sent him the old on a Monday and had new on that Friday. I believe it all came to around $550.
I told him it was a 7.9 and mentioned about the T ball issue. He said he knew what to do.
Fit's perfect!

Another good source is JSI. Got new rigging for $560 shipped. JSI is also the mast builder.

What's the standard way to do this? Send them the old? Do your own measurement? I'm not sure I trust myself to do the latter, but the former requires pulling the boat out of service. Anyway, I'll probably do this over the winter since the season is coming to a close.

I assume JSI has the right t-balls?

Ok. I pulled the old standing rigging off the boat and am sending it to JSI for replacement. Their quote of $534 is quite reasonable. Here is my question:

The top shrouds have "c" clamps above and below the spreaders. Are these original equipment, or did the previous owner put them on. Should I put them on the new shrouds? The spreaders on this boat have a lot more "wobble" to them than the spreaders on my previous boat (Catalina 25).

the clamps are not OEM. the end of each spreader has a bar and 2 bolts that clamp the bar down onto the upper shroud. the spreaders should be fixed at a slight upward angle that bisects the angle of the bend in the shrouds between the deck and the mast-head. the spreaders should not have any play fore and aft, they should angle aft (I'll have to get the degree measurement off of one of our boats) - basically they should be quite rigidly held in place.
