Replacing Spinnaker Sheets

Post by Stef »

Spec's call for 5/16" x 50'. Has anyone tried 1/4", or too rough on the hands? Would like light as possible.

Yes, with all the high tech line available now you can get plenty of strength and lighter weight in smaller diameter line. Tough on gloves and more expensive though. We usually have enough wind so line weight really isn't an issue and we may go back up to 5/16 or even 3/8 for Ambivalence's next set.

i use 5/16" NER Endura Braid that has a high tech core and dacron cover. this year I will strip about 25' of the cover back. i have been practicing my mid-line cover bury and am ready for the big-time.
