Are the Torqeedo electric outboards legal under class rules? Class legal or not, has anybody tried one?

Good question. My first impression is that yes, they are class legal. you might have to carry more ballast as the weight of your motor is figured into your racing weight.
The Class Rules do say in section 2.9 "8) an operable engine (minimum 4.5 hp. SAE standard),"
I think we should add this question to the General Membership Meeting for 2014.
