I was searching the forum for advice on replacement of my bulkhead compass.
I saw a reference to a Suunto compass.
Mine is mounted on the port cabin side which forms the front of the cockpit below the dog-house winch.
I guess my son and his cousin thought it was a bubble that needing popping and sure enough it is leaking through spider web cracks.
Some of the new ones out there do not work on inclines greater than 5-degrees.
My boat is not with me, but it seems from figures and photos to be inclined around 10 to 12 degrees.
Anyone been through this lately??

There's a Richie compass on ebay at a good price. I replaced mine this summer.

You might need to order the add-on compensator. I did, but my compass is on the starboard side and She's an inboard.

Re: Bulkhead Compass Replacement Advice
The old one was a Ritchie too, but of course the holes did not match. I drilled out the old screw holes in the dog house and filled them and the old portion of the old compass hole with West System epoxy. I have no inboard and not much metal in that area so I have not messed with getting the compensator (yet). I do not believe the old broken Ritchie (original?) compass had a compensator.... Not sure on that.
