Tiller measurements

Post by Guest »

Greetings all,

Jim, the other partner with Jeff W on S2 #279 in Florida. We're having a tiller made and need overall measurements and/or templates
.....we know it's a straight tiller, but not sure about overall length from the
back of the rudder---somewhere in the 50-52" range, we figured. Don't want the end of the tiller hanging up on the helmsman in a pinch.

Also missing some stainless steel---pin for the rudder, pin for the daggerboard tang, and stainless bolt for the mast step. We measured
3/8"...

Thanks,

Jim :P

Just happeen to have my tiller standing here next to my computer ...

It's 54 3/4 inches from tip to center of pin. Wood section is 52 1/4 and sits 2 1/2 inches in from center of the pin.

Hope that helps.

Jim,

Thanks for fast response. We'll get the measurements to our local craftsman so he can get started. Jeff and I very impressed with the "class" of the S2 class---great support, involvement, and fast boats...
