Toe rail replacement -- 2 questions

Post by Bob Pr. »

Q #1 -- I've been told that the toe rails on S2 7.9s and those on the S2 6.7/6.9/22s are identical -- are they?

The toe rail on a S2 6.7/6.9/22, in cross section, measures about 3/4" on its lower vertical leg that lies alongside the hull; about 1½" horizontally, edge to edge; and about 1¼" on its upper vertical leg.

Is that also the same on the S2 7.9?

If the answer to Q #1 is yes, then --
Q #2 is, from where are replacements available? Are there sources for a new toe rail? Are there any second hand pieces long enough to fit on an S2 6.7 (22' LOA; the toe rail is no greater and probably less LOA).

One of our S2 6.7 skippers was recently T-boned in a race and he needs a replacement. He'd like to use an OEM toe rail, of course.

If the answer to Q #1 is no, I'll still appreciate suggestions as to sources for OEM (or near OEM) replacements.

Thank you,

Bob Pr.
