Spreader on shroud measurement.

Post by Bob Acker »

Does anyone know or can anyone check the distance/location that the spreader tip attatches to the upper shroud? I removed the spreaders in the fall and forgot to mark the spreader attatchment locations. Thanks. Bob Acker. Hunting Party #448

spreader location

I would make my best guess and afer the mast is stepped, use the spinnaker pole, while standing on the cabin top, nudge the spreader into place about 3 degrees above horizontal. Jeff Skyhawk #250

I do the same thing Jeffrey does. Offshore specifies five degrees. Be sure to sight from a point where the backstay is in line with the mast so that you get both spreaders at the same angle. Since you are lower than the spreaders, this is necessary. 138, Prime Time
