McMaster-Carr: Source for hard to find parts

Post by Tigerlily »

I am truly amazed by McMaster -Carr. They seem to have just about everything one might need to replace hard to find stainless steel parts, hardware, clevis pins in many diameters and sizes, plastic washers, bushing materials for the rudder to rudder cheek plate interface, everything I had trouble finding locally I was able to find at McMater-Carr.
AND, they will sell it to you in small quantities from one to many.
Here is their web site

http://www.mcmaster.com/

It has a very responsive and easy to use search engine and in my opinion is one of the best on-line hardware stores in existence.

We have had a look at it.
Yes, it does have a lot - very complete in almost all things we need with some regularity.

Thanks

If by chance you can't find a fastener at McMaster-Carr you should also try Fastenal

McMaster-Carr: Source for hard to find parts

They have 1/4 inch stainless steel rivets and other items not found (easily) on the McMaster site.

Tip: The online prices at the Fastenal site are higher than the price quoted to me at their local outlet store so if you have a Fastenal outlet it may be best to order it from there rather than online to save some $$.
