Daggerboard Line

Time to replace my daggerboard lift line. Has anyone found anything that they really like and where did you purchase it?

Daggerboard Line

Post by Tom Elsen »

Hey Larry
We've used 5/16" Samson Trophy Braid in red, and usually replace it every year. It runs very well. The soft poly cover holds perfectly. Make sure your clutch will handle the smaller diameter though.
The fact that TB isn't a high-tech-low-stretch line is a bonus for this application IMHO.
The solid red is really easy to identify on deck.
Best wishes,
Tom

Daggerboard Line / Pulley

Post by dbarrer »

While up-grading your daggerboard line has anyone made changes to the pulley system? I have heard about using roller bearing rather than delron - but I cant seem to find what I am looking for.

We added a pulley for 4-1, and changed out everything to harken roller bearings, now I can raise the board one handed. 42 turns block to block
