Forward/reverse switch-a-roo on BMW D7

Post by sailorjoe »

Do any of you BMW D7 users have an engine control that when pushed forward the boat reverses, and likewise when pulled back to drives forward? Since it's not a very "instinctive" set-up I'm wondering if it's a matter of the shift cable having been mis-routed and, if so, a simple matter to fix (assuming it's not a "standard" configuration).

Joe,

It sounds like a cable problem. I guess it's possible that a cam on the shift / throttle is installed upside down, but I don't remember exactly what the shifter mechanism looks like. In any case it's not 'normal'.
Best wishes,
Tom
