Kevlar mains?

Post by carey »

Why do all the top boats have them?Is this because the mast is so stiff?

Composite mains have a couple of advantages. They're lighter, easier to keep flat in the upper range, and if properly maintained, keep their shape at least twice as long as dacron.
Best wishes,

Well then I have bought all Norths in the past but I am not to happy with my main.You have to load the back stay vang sheet and add a ton of cunningham on to make it look good.Should I get a North 3DL and hope it fits better or try a Dolye Kevlar main Thanks,Carey

Hello;
I think you should call Spike and talk about what you think you need and have seen with your boat.
Spike loves this class and will give you as much information about the product you are presently using.
He wants all S2's to sail fast.
Do you have other S2;s to Gauge your speed against?
Come to the Sarnia regatta. Have a good time,sail a lot of races and have a good time.
