Rudder pivot point
Does anyone have the exact location of the pivot hole for the rudder?
Re: Rudder pivot point
The Rules Plan B that I have shows only the foil shape. I can get the location by measuring 457's rudder sometime next week.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Re: Rudder pivot point
Has anyone tried offsetting the pivot point so the rudder will clear the water entirely when lifted? A friend's F-27 tri has that arrangement, and I think it would reduce load on the system while moored. What do you think?

Re: Rudder pivot point
Can anyone help with this measurment?
Re: Rudder pivot point
My pivot bolt is centered 5 and 5/16" aft of the leading edge of the aluminum plate and 3" up from the bottom of the same.
Re: Rudder pivot point
sorry, SJ, our rudder is not back from the shop yet.
Re: Rudder pivot point
Thanks Dave, but I am looking for the locaction in the rudder not the cheek plates. I need to drill a new hole in a new rudder.
Re: Rudder pivot point
4-1/2" down from the top, 5-1/2" back from the leading edge. The 5-1/2" dimension should be the same on the cheekplates.
