Halyards

Looking at replacing my jib and spin halyards.
What is everyone using?

I would use a DSK 75 for them. Try Bam at Oyster Bay Boat shop.

You might also look at the Novabraid XLE St Sailcare.com. It seem pretty durable and its cheaper!

It may be durable and cheap but it will be like using bungy cord, not a good choice for racing halyards.

Do you mean Vectran? if so that is really good for halyards, real low stretch.

Wii the rope clutches hold something that small ?

I'm on my second year with VPC in 5/16" the original rope clutches seem to grip it fine. I did however, change out my port rope clutches to the lewmar superlock D1 triple rope clutch. Works well. My older poly 5/16" line that is ragged out (for vang, and reef) was a bear to thread through the clutch, but the halyards were fine (I replaced my main, genoa, and spin halyards with VPC in 2014).

So a lower budget option for me was VPC.
