What else??? Shackles are heavy and come open, brummel hooks weigh less and STILL come open! :oops: For all of you who have been sailing that way for years and never had it happen................................... it will, but never when you're doing badly!!!!! :shock: :roll:

I don't even use a shackle on the halyard. A REAL bowline doesn't come untied under load, it just clamps down harder! :wink:

my question wasn't clear.
ment to say, stopper knots in end of spinaker sheets.

Larry;
On Hunting party we use stopper knots on the end of our spin sheets. But ours are long enough that if we need to dump the chute we still can without compromising safety of the crew or the boat.
