Looking at pictures of the big boats in the Fastnet. Some seem to show what looks like reaching struts on both sides, triangulated fore and aft, while going to weather, with a shroud to mast top (?). Am I seeing this correctly? I know multihulls run shrouds to the proas, but I'd think these maxi's have enough beam to make it unnecessary.
Anybody know what's going on?
