forestay replacement

Post by Marc Marschark »

I'm going to change my headsails over from TuffLuff to hanks. My guess is that on the 7.9, I'll need to replace the headstay (the luff track doesn't just fit over it). I'll have to retrieve the old headstay - any recommendations on where to order a new one?

it should fit, what does not fit? it should snap right over it after being cut to length, the snapping on will take about 15 min to work all the way up

If you do it correctly and not on a cold day you should be able to remove the tuff luff in less than 5 minutes. Do it on a cold day and you might just break it! They all split, don't waste your money on a new headstay.

Marc;
I agree with Dave.
You should NOT have to get a new headstay.
Let the head foil get warm.
