Toe Rail Repair vs. Replace
If the lack of response that Bob Pr. got from his similar post last summer is any indication, my answer may be repair by default.
I was t-boned by a 35' boat last fall, which flattened my toerail badly in near port shroud, and moderately about 2 feet aft. Replacing the entire toerail, if I could even find another one, seems pretty labor intensive, and likely unnecessary.
So I'm hoping to cut the 6' damaged section out, attempt to correct the damage to pre-collision dimensions, and re-install.
I'm wondering if others have experienced this problem, and what advice they might have.

Toe Rails
In having to replace a toe rail on our 7.9 a few years ago, we also went to Taco Metals to find a replacement. Unfortunately, while Taco Metals makes numerous types of toe rail, none of them were an exact replacement for the 7.9. Therefore, we decided to have our own made to original specifications. With that being said, we have original specification toe rails available for the 7.9 that we have been supplying to 7.9ers for a few years now. They are of exact dimensions, detail and color. If anyone is in need of a toe rail or has any questions related to the topic, please let me know. We have an ad posted in the "for sale" section also. My e-mail is cjhutch@peoplepc.com.

toe rail
We had severe toe rail damage on one of our boats caused by last summers hurricanes. I ordered it from Chuck and replaced the entire port length. The job took us less than an hour with two people. The rail is a perfect match, something that just can't be found anywhere else. Chuck is a gentleman and I would recommend you drop him an e-mail.
Toe Rail Replacement
Wednesday Night I was hit by a boat barging the starting line and there is damage to my starbord toe rail. There is a V in the toe rail about 2" wide but it also split the aluminum. I am trying to plan the repair and have a few questions.
1) Are there any sources still available for matching toe rail? If so How much?
2) The boat is pristine and I do not want to "piece" the toe rail so I would need a full length to repair it.
3) How is the toe rail installed, is it bonded to the deck with 3M 5200 or just screwed?
Thanks
Terry

S2 toe rails revisited
Was unfortunate enough to have sustained some toe rail damage to the starboard side of the 7.9. Looked on the website & was not able to communicate with Chuck Hutchinson who was previously supplying the toe rails. Does anyone have any ideas?
On the brighter side "Tops in Quality" were first rate in manufacturing the stanchions at a cost of $69 each & were knowledgeable about the different stanchion angles relative to the bases. Quick service too.

Doug Stuart
