I am getting an unusually large amount of rain water accumulating in the cockpit locker, and have not yet been able to determine the source of the leak. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

leaking lazarett
When we owned Maniac 311 we installed a rubber door seal material to prevent this problem.

locker leak
when this happened to me a couple of years back, I discovered that the tubing that leads from the cockpit scuppers to the outside of the hull (positioned in the extreme aft of the cockpit sole) was split-- so that every time it rained, or every time the boat heeled and submerged the drain on the hull, water leaked into the locker. it took me awhile to figure it out, but it was a quick fix once I did-- just get some flexible reinforced plastic tubing from the plumbing supply store, some tube clamps, cut the tubing to the right length (about 6 inches, I think), and replace it. check it out, I'll bet that's where you're getting water.
cockpit locker leak
I seem to be taking on water after running in a following sea. Given these previous posts, I'd suspect the scuppers -- or maybe a fitting on the bilge pump? The tubes connecting the cockpit sole to the hull are rigid, not flexible tubing, and I don't see any sign of leakage. I may have to climb down there the next time we're sailing in those conditions. Ugh!

lazarette leak - FOUND IT
The PO had deliberately put a serious kink in the bilge pump hose, and after 20+ years it appears that the joint has failed. Running in a following sea, the transom sits down a bit and we were taking on water. Glad I never had to run away from a serious storm! I've never even tested the factory installed bilge pump, but I guess it's time to replumb it.
