2007 marblehead noods/ Boston yacht club

Post by barry bessette »

I would like to put this on the map for 07.
Any one game .
Its a lot closer than Florida.
I could assist with plans.
There must be 5 S2's in NewEngland to race .
Try some real ocean racing.

Count me in.

My boat is moored at Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly, MA, about three miles from Marblehead. There are two other S2 7.9 in our club but both have roller furling headsails.

I would also be willing to provide local support to any boats coming in from out of town.

Instigator #212 from Michigan would be willing to make the trip East if we get a start. I think someone from the area should contact Sailing World and get the S2 7.9 on their list of classes.

I will contact sail world and see how many boats we need for a start.
I'm on the cape in Chatham.
It would be great to have a one design race close by.
I will put my all in to it.

roller furler

Post by barry bessette »

I dont see a problem with any one sailing with a roller furling
system as long as it is not used.
I believe one can drop and raise the head sail like those of us without a
furler.
The noods are not the worlds and the main thing is to get out and have a good time.

Sorry.
The last massage was for Scott Ross.

I also can host some crews.
We should have a clam bake with plenty of lobsters.

marblehead noods

Sorry, the dates for the regatta are July 26-29. Racing is scheduled for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We’ve had classes in the past just race on Sat and Sun. though. They usually start racing around 12:30p.m. and last year we did dinner and drinks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:30p.m. – 7:00p.m. 1 social ticket is included with your entry fee if you are NOT an MRA member. Additional tickets last year were $40.00 If you are an MRA member, your entry fee is waived, but the social ticket is not. Registration is on Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 or on Thursday from 9:00a.m. and 11a.m. and at 5:00p.m. -7:00p.m. These times might change, but they will most likely be around the same times that I’ve listed.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks!

Jennifer

Dear Sail World

I would like to thank you for all your work on the noods regattas.

This Email is in referance to the 2007 Marblehead noods.

The S2 7.9 fleet would like a start in the regatta .

If you could give me all the dates and times for this event that would be a great help.

We have a good showing at most of the noods,I think we could get a fleet going in Marblehead.

How boats do we need for a start?

Looks like I'm the contact for this.

My name is Barry Bessette
