Hey Joe

Hope that you guys from my home town have a great regatta, and a big fun time. BTW did Kaboom sell to somebody in Loo-a-vul (is it new to the area)?
Best wishes,
Tom

Tom:

This KABOOM is the original #22. We were at the Nationals in August also.

  Got it! Have a great time. And show 'em how to make a proper mint julep...with REAL Bourbon...not that Tennessee imitation :))

Bah humbug.

Wish I could be down there with you guys, but on the way (6 hours into the trip) one of the leaf springs on the trailer broke. Ohio was shut down because of the snow emergency so there wasn't a single store open that carried the correct springs for a square axle. At least the boat wasn't damaged, though the tires rubbed on the fender so hard they had it smoking.

So my boat is currently parked in a trailer fabrication facility south of Lima and I'm up in Michigan with the parts on order =/. Have fun guys!

2007 St. Pete NOOD was very different from the 2006 version. 2006 was plagued by very little wind and no racing was completed on Friday and Sunday. 2007 had plenty of wind. Friday brought winds in the 15 - 25 knot range with some gust that were probably higher than 25 knots. The temps were also very rare for St. Pete as it never got out of the low 50's. There were some spectacular wipeouts in the other classes on our circle, especially the Melges 32's and Wavelength 24's. There was tight racing on all three races held on Friday. Frequent Flyer was able to win all three races on Friday. Saturday brought a lot less winds. The first race on Saturday was very fluky as the wind shifts and speeds changed frequently. Finally the wind settled in from the west and the final two races of the day were held in 10 - 20 knots of wind. Again Frequent Flyer came away with 3 first for Saturday. Sunday morning the race commitee issued a postponement at the dock at 8:30am, as wind were blowing 20 - 30 knots out on the bay. By 9:15 am, the winds were blowing even harder and temps were in the low 50's, all races were abandoned for the day. Spike Boston and the crew of Frequent Flyer won all 6 races in very difficult conditions. Congrats to Spike, Tac and the rest of the FF crew.[/code]

The crew of MAGIC #491 would like to extend a big "thanks" to the fleet for the warm welcome we received at the St. Pete NOOD! We had a great time and will be traveling to one-design events as much as possible.

Thanks again! :D

Great reggatta, great event. Too bad some of the other boats couldn't make it. The weather wasn't Florida weather but atleast it was warmer then back home.
Here is the link for the pictures that Brandy took. She had some camera trouble on Saturday and the pictures didn't turn out as well as the should have.
