2007 Class Championship Announcement & Details

Post by Tom Elsen »

We are very pleased to confirm that the Milwaukee Yacht Club will host TWO great regattas for 7.9 sailors in August 2007. Mark your calendars. Call your crew. Load up the trailer. And join us for two weekends of terrific one-design racing.

Regatta #1: The Milwaukee Grand Prix
Racing - Saturday, August 4 and Sunday Aug 5
No race to start after ~ 1400 on Sunday
Register Friday, or on-line (link will be posted soon)
Use it as a tune-up for the CCR. It's close to free! (About a $60 entry)

Regatta #2: The S2 7.9 Class Championship Regatta
Racing: Thursday 8/9, Fri 8/10 and Sat 8/11
We will shoot for a 7 race series over the three days

For a lot of sailors, you'll be able to do BOTH regattas with two days off work. Send a couple of guys down to MYC with the boat on Friday 8/3. (There'll be plenty of hands to help set masts.) The rest of the crew can travel after work on Friday afternoon. You'll be ready to race Saturday and Sunday.

Leave the boat on the trailer, mast up, on Sunday and away-you-go. Send one person down on Wednesday 8/8 to clear registration for the CCR. Everybody else travels after work Wednesday afternoon.

That's two days off work for most of the crew and FIVE days of great one-design racing! Reminder  Milwaukee is about as centrally located as possible for 7.9ers. Menominee 3 hrs. Holland MI 4 hrs, Minneapolis 5 1/2, Louisville & Detroit 6, Nashville 9.

If you can find a better deal on THIS planet....take it!

We look forward to seeing you there.
Best wishes,
Tom

#267 is in! This will be our first year racing a 7.9 so the Class Champs should be steep learning curve! We look forward to it!

thinking of sailing over from South Haven double handed, and having the rest of the crew drive in the gas saver (VW) a day or 2 later; unless anyone has a better idea?? I need to burn a couple VACA days

the CCR is not looking so good, I'm trying to close on a house, the old lady left me, and the crew is un-decided, this makes some major trailer problems seem like eye strain,v I'm out untill further notice
