What does the Chicago NOOD look like for a 7.9 fleet this year?

KABOOM I will be there as an outboard now, and most likely a new name.

Relentless will be there. And if y'all are lucky the gas can and sheep might make a special appearance.

We'll be there

Our team will be there.
Finally, after a few years' absence!
This is a great, fun, regatta in a great city.

Hey Chris - be sure to double check those lug nuts.
Best wishes,
Tom

Our team will register this weekend.

It looks like the Friedell (Songbird) team will do so as well. So, we've got at least two more for Chicago.
Best wishes,
Tom

Belmont vs Montrose Street

Post by Tom Elsen »

I just got an email from the organizers indicating that the 7.9 class (and the 9.1s) are sailing "out of Belmont", not out of the regular CYC station at Monroe Street. Was anybody else aware of this early on?

Likely, everyone will stay at Monroe, and motor up each day. I've emailed the organizers RE this matter.

Any comments?
Best wishes,
Tom

Same course as last year. I've been in touch with Don for several months trying to confirm that we would again be a Belmont. Doug Negotiated this move last year to get away from the T-10's. IMHO it's for the better. You can still motor the 6 miles each day if you want, or stay at Belmont and only have a 2 mile trip. Lincioln Park launch is only 1/4 mile away, but has a low bridge, so you must step the mast at Belmont.

Thanks for the info Jeff.

Did you guys store the trailers at the old place, (south of Burnham / McCormick)?

We did last year, because we didn't know we were moving north until we registered.

They have some trailer parking at Belmont. Limited spaces for free on the YC grounds and the rest in the paid lot right next to the docks. Still cheaper than the marshalling yard off 33rd St. and alot closer. I'm planing on checking the parking at Lincoln park as well, but I believe you must leave the trailer attached to the vehicle to park there, just like Burnham.

See you all Thursday!!
