CONGRATULATIONS Paul Latour and all of the committee on a first class event.My first Equalizer Regatta was two years ago and it was very well run.This year's event proves that two years ago was not a fluke.
All of the off and on water activities were TOP Notch.The PRO was first class and all of the on water actions were a comfort.
Paul and his lovely ,graciuos wife again opened their beautifull home to all of the S2 sailors and their families.We on Hunting Party are very greatfull for for all of the southern hospitality were were priveledged to recieve.It was a shame that Paul works too much and could not spend more off water time with us.Or maybe some on water time fishing.
The Percy Priest wind gods did make this an Equalizer regatta.The winds were a bit fickle but they were fair for everybody.For those who worried about if there was going to be wind,and I was one of them, there was lots of wind for both days.And No fog.
On Sunday we even had some boats sailing with genoas and some with jibs.This makes for good competition. There were many position changes and close finishes.We were involved in several close finishes and hope we have learned some valuable lessons for future events.
Congratulations to David and the crew of Songbird.They have continued with their consistent sailing and deserved their win.
We will return again next year and we hope that you will join us also.
Chimo;
Guts.
Ps Thanks; Bob,Dave Tim and Chandler for all of the hard work and giggles.
