We delayed until 11:30, our 'mobile clubhouse' is a wonderful way to spend a delay. Its parked 20 feet from the boat and it sure beats laying or sitting on fiberglass. RC announced an intention to do one race and we headed out to the course for a scheduled 13:00 start sequence. After the AP was dropped the winds slowly increased to solid 30's. Reefed main was set off the dock and sailing out to the course we had 6 ft waves. Not too bad for the 7.9. We were anxious to get started. We practiced in the 30's on Sunday and were looking forward to getting a jump on the boats that practiced their drink pouring in high winds. We would slowly work our way up wind, wait for a good puff and a set of waves and take off down wind. Top speed of 13.4 knots with just a reefed main. Ya gotta love it. But, racing was called of at 1:00 and we came back in.

We'll try again tomorrow.

Forgot to bring the camera back from the boat. We'll try to post some picks tomorrow. Its way to beautiful down here.

Bob,
We had Sunday, what you had Monday.
Blew off the Sunday race, not because of the wind, but because of the COLD.
50 deg. and 30 knots, felt like -10.

That's because I'm a native Floridian.

Why 165 for Bob and 168 for the other 7.9's

Just a guess; maybe a crew weight issue, 3 sec penalty?

PS. Weather in Michigan; 10 and snow; wind chill?, you don't want to think about.
