Post by Macho Slavich »

There seem to be five or so holes on the mast but end or shoe for lack of a tech name.....in one design racing can the bolt to hold the mast in place be put through any of the holes.....is it legal....does anyone do it in a different hole then the center one...any tips or tricks will be greatly apreciated.....

Mast rigging

J must equal 9.5 feet, so the center hole is the 'legal' one for class racing. For PHRF, you can change the J so long as you declare it. But I cannot imagine a reason to do so.
Best wishes,
Tom

when I raise my mast, is there supposed to be a space between the mast shoe and the mast deck plate ? Or does the mast set right down on the plate?
thanks- Dave
