REMOVAL OF BOARD
Anyone who has removed board, please advise best way to do so ! how deep are the side shims mounted to board ? how are shims attached ? I have friction between board and trunk which is so tight the board won't lower ( all lines slacked ) w/o jumping on it !

Fred, I just noticed that you sent me a PM. If you still need some help let me know.
The 7.9 board is right behind the mast step area as being one of the least well built parts of the boat, IMHO. I have stated previously that so much of the glass skin on our board had detached from the core that I'm just going to strip all the glass off and start over. The whole thing was bad crooked, warped and asymmetrical anyway, so it's just one more task toward really getting the boat right to begin with.

BOARD REMOVAL
Dave, you are so right about board construction being very poor. When we got it pulled it was delaminated on both edges from top down to 6" below hull and fractured trailing edge about 8" x 1/2" into board. We ground out edges fileed w/ epoxy and glassed over. Oh yes, the front shim was missing allowing board to crush @ trailing edge. It's all repaired and were ready for competition again. Thanks for info to all who responded !!
