foredeck hatch

I'd like to replace the front hatch on my boat, does anyone know a particular make/model number that fits what I would assume is the original?

You have at least 3 choices. Taylor Made 16 3/4 by 16/3/4, Lewmar Ocean 40 or Bomar Gray Low Profile 16 7/8 by 167/8. The orginal was made by Gray which is now Bomar low Profile. I used the Taylor Made and am pleased with it. I have a Bomar 16.5 hatch which could work with a little help that I will sell cheap. That said the Taylor Made and Lewmar are better choices.

I found a great deal on a new Lewmar #40 low profile on EBay last winter, less then 1/2 list price. I am very happy with function, fit, and appearance. It is about 1/2 inch smaller than the original opening, but there was enough area to seal it. I used 1/4" screen moulding as shims to help position it, but it doesn't really need them for support.
