Anyone using Single Point Hoist

I am researching the purchase of a 7.9. The option to ramp launching is very appealing. Is anyone drysailing their 7.9 using a single point hoist?
Does any modifications need to be made?

I am debating weather to find a slip for the boat or dry sail the boat. The yacht club does not have a ramp but there is a ramp nearby but no mast up storage.

I doubt if it possible to launch the boat with a single point hoist That is done mostly with Fixed keel boats
However I do have a 7.9 for sale listed in the boats for sale section on the web site I have pictures to send on request

It's easy to launch with a single point hoist with two straps.
The key is to have the straps the correct length. The front one should be shorter than the aft. The aft sits about half way between the daggerboard transom. Be sure to tie that aft strap to one of the pintles to prevent it slipping forward.

With a bit of practice it works well.

I recently acquired an S2 7.9. Since I can not get a slip any time soon, I was going to dry sail the boat. There is a launch nearby but I will have to step the rig each time.

Can you provide more detail about using the straps?
Length of the straps?
Are the straps attached to the hoist or are you using an H-frame to prevent crushing the hull?
After using straps to launch the boat, have you seen any stress to the hull or deck?

I use to launch using a boom truck and straps with no damage to anything. Imagine you could do the same on a hoist if it will handle 5000 lbs. Nose goes in first but that's not a problem. Last year, I purchased the largest Venture aluminum roller bunk trailer they make, moved the axles ahead as far as they go and a few other minor modifications. I can't believe how easy it is to launch and retrieve the boat.
