2010 St. Pete NOODs Feb 12-14

Post by JP »

Hello everyone!

Taking a roll call for those who are planning to attend the St. Pete NOOD. Please reply via this forum topic. Magic just hitched up this morning and is headed South as I type (no, I'm not driving and typing). Let's get the ball rolling and have a great winter regatta! If anyone has any questions/comments please feel free to contact me.

Frequent Flyer would like to do St Petes but only if there are enough boats to justify the drive down south 20 hours...Speak up if anyone is going down.

To date, Magic, is the only boat registered with two other interested boats. I suggest we set Jan 12 as a registration deadline so we can find out if a decent fleet is sailing. If not, then we all can change our plans, airline tickets, hotels, etc.!

Happy Holidays!

We need to get more boats interested by the 12th. We really want to go, but like I said it is a long drive for 5-8 boats.

I have been told that Sea Turtle2, from Melbourne will be going.

I have a few issues to work out, will know more in the next week, before I can commit.

Rebel is now registered, that makes two. Brad Boston >register Frequent Flyer and we will have three. If everybody waits to the last minute to register, we won't get any boats to attend and won't get a fleet. You can register and indicate that you will pay by check and you won't be out any money until you send the check to Sailing World. JP can you get your brother to bring his boat over from Melbourne. Where is our reigning St. Pete champ Rooster Tail??? Dave get registered. Dr. Itch, are you bringing one of your armada down, get registered. Bob Fleck, are you done seeing the US yet, if so, get your registration in. Bama get your registration in. Can we get some more of the Percy Priest boats interested to come down to Florida. If us northern boys can drive 1300 miles, you Southern Boys can surely drive 800 miles. Money Shot> you bringing the Slam or the Tiger down to St. Pete?? Lets get on-line and register for this event.

The Prez.

We are a month away from the St. Pete NOOD regatta and still only have 4 boats registered. The deadline to form a class is drawing near and we need to have at least 6 boats for a class. If you plan on attending, please register ASAP at www.sailinworld.com. It can't stay cold in Florida much longer, the weather will warm up just for the regatta!!! Please responded to this post if you have intentions of registering. If you have any questions, please contact me at jspierli@yahoo.com or 586-786-5634.

Anybody know of a boat that would be available to charter in the St Pete area? Jeff Mootz (Skyhawk #250)

We now have 8 boats registered, and I have received e-mails that we should be expecting two more boats to register. Just a friendly reminder, any one else that is planning on attending, if you register after 5pm EST on Monday 1/2510, you will be subject to a $50 late fee. So don't procrastinate, register now. It would be great to have over 10 boats show up. Thanks to the local guys who have stepped up and registered, it makes for a nice winter get-away for us snowbirds.

See you in St. Pete in a couple of weeks.

Hey John
Thanks for putting in the effort on this event.
And congrats on the result.
It looks like a great pack of boats, especially in this down economy
All of us, even those who can't be there, really appreciate it.
Best wishes,
Tom

Congratulations to Brad Boston on Frequent Flyer for their 1st in the St. Pete NOODs. Last year's champ, Dave Flechsig was a close 2nd in Rooster Tail. Results are up at http://www.sailingworld.com/nood-regatt ... 80935.html and will be on the class site tonight.
Thanks,
