Bottom flossing
I'd like to make a bottom flosser and would appreciate anyone's plan if you've made one. Thanks, Tom Cassidy email-ann1303@sbcglobal.net
Re: Bottom flossing
I bought one a couple years ago from Chris Winnard, the local North Sails Rep. He works for Ullman now. I could take a picture of mine and post some dimensions.

Puyallup, WA, man that brings back great memories of the Roadhouse. Is the food still great? If you could send along the demensions, pics that would be great. What does it have that sinks it so it's easier to get under the boat? Thanks, TomCassidy

I believe the Roadhouse burned down a couple years ago will take picks of flosser this weekend.

Sorry to hear about the Roadhouse. Pics and demensions would be much appreciated. Tom
Re: Bottom flossing
Our flosser:
We bought a 1 foot wide piece of green outdoor carpet - it comes in 12' length. Then we cut an old broom handle into 2 15" pieces, rolled the pieces into the ends and stapled the carpet to the handles. We then drilled holes in each end of the handles and added about 1 1/2 fathoms of some clothesline to each handle.
We were able to pay for this by having someone else bring the beer one week!

Re: Bottom flossing
Thanks guys. Appreciate the help and the pics. Unfortunately, this eliminates one more reason I was using for not doing better on Wed nights. Tom
Re: Bottom flossing
Flossing is certainly better than nothing, but the blades REALLY need to be clean and smooth. Some folks scrub the rudder off with a brush or whatever but if you have something less than hard bottom paint, that leaves gouges and scratches going 90 degrees to the water flow! This all still leaves a bad keel.............................................

Dave, you're right and that's why I raise and pin the board everytime I come in. Then I clean the rudder with a terrycloth towel wrapped around a scrub brush on a long handle. Always appreciate the input. Thanks, Tom
