Mast Spinnaker Halyard Rigging

Post by Full Tilt »

Looking for suggestions; new s2 owner

Full Tilt is equipped with a masthead spinnaker halyard on the starboard side with a cam cleat on the mast

The spinnaker halyard is on port side and is led back to the cockpit.

Jib halyard is on starboard side and led back to cockpit.

Class rules prohibit mast head spinnaker, so wondering how other boats are rigged. One person I talked to uses foredeck and cleat on spinnaker but would require a different set up coming out of the base of the mast. Thanks Eric

Hey Eric,
Jason from T-Bone Naples FL here. I could come up and meet you at your new boat to help with any rigging questions you may have. There should be another pulley next to the jib halyard for the spin. Our spin halyard exits the mast on the starboard side above and below. When setting up the spin we swing the halyard around the for-stay and rig then bring it under the boom to the spin bag in the companionway. We then run to a cam cleat for the foredeck guy to raise. Mast head is not class legal and may carry a 6 or so sec mi hit here in SWFPHRF. I would love to come check out your new boat. Call me at 239-253-6288
