Nashville Equalizer Regatta

Post by chriscraig99 »

Only two months away, you have to be there. October 15 and 16. PPYC puts on an excellent Regatta. Link to the website http://ppyc.org/racing/regattas.htm#Equalizer For those NHL fans, Phoenix is in town Thursday night and New Jersey Devils on Saturday night.

Indigo is looking to make it. Slight shift in crew roster as it seems that that weekend in Oct is a popular wedding weekend.....

Hi Everyone,
We have changed hotels this year. The last couple of years we have had issues with Hot Water, Cable (Spike needs his Speed Channel) and them overcharging us. The Days Inn across the street seems to be nicer and we got a good deal online. The deal online is better than what they would give us as a group rate.

If you go to the webpage that I am going to attach and book the rooms you can get them for as low at $39.99 a night. We just put that one person was staying in the rooms and that was the cheapest way to do it. Even though there could be 2-4.
If you have any questions please let me know.

Thanks

You can check the boats registered here:

http://www.kevinmanner.com/Regatta_Regi ... ations.asp

There are 12 boats registered; if everybody who's said they're coming shows up, we could have more than 20. Paul's making arrangements for a second pot of gumbo...

I would like to thank Paul Latour for once again out doing himself and hosting a fabulous weekend of racing. As usual, the off-the-water festivities were extradorinary and the hospitality was second to none. Racing was tight among the 21 boats, with the race committee doing a superb job of getting in 6 races over the two days. If you were not there this past weekend, I would suggest that you pencil this regatta into your 2012 calendar now for next year.

Again, thanks to Paul and all of the other 7.9 sailors that showed up this weekend making it truly fun and excitng weekend of racing.

Hopefully we can get this kind of a turn-out in March (17 & 18) down in Sarasota, Fl -- start making your plans now.

The Prez.

I would like to add my congratulations to Paul for organizing and running a first class regatta.
He and his beautifull wife Dana again provided a first class welcome gathering on friday evening.
The committee work was first class and the competition was very close and challenging.
Again, thank you paul , his PPYC members and friends and all of my S2 friends for a great regatta.
See you in Sarasota.

I need to hop on the bandwagon and say a huge thanks to Paul, Dana and the entire Nashville (and the semi local Louisville crew) for doing such a great job of hosting this magnificent event.
I was a very needy guest and it did not matter what random request I posed to our host, they had a solution or a helping hand! Huge thanks to all of you.
We are very much looking forward to hosting what I believe will be a large turn out for our second year of getting S2 7.9s on the line as part of the Sarasota One-Design Midwinters Regatta. I will be catching up with our 7.9 webmaster about getting a post up about the homepage with initial details.
Paul Latour has done a great job of showing me what a top class event should look like, while I am still in the planning stages for hosting in March I would urge all of you class vets to drop me an email with your thoughts about what is important to you in an event and what you have seen done well in the past. travis@seamester.com
My crew and I (well at least the 2/3 that managed to get to Nashville!) are very fired up to run a great class event that includes both great sailing and some organized shore side events so please do send us some thoughts and ideas on what you would like to see on both side of the equation.
Very best,
Travis
