Hello.
I currently own hull #426, it's one of the few fin keel mast head boats around. Looking for any advice on sails the class members could recommend. 155% genoa, and main sail. From reading the website it appears you all run a 105% jib as well. Any other thoughts?
Does anyone have recommendations on materials or vendors? I am sure everyone has had different luck with different sailmakers and materials.
Boat is currently in Connecticut and will be raced in LI sound, we have the typical rather light air races here, with the exception in the fall.

Re: Sails
I've purchased sails from Schurr (Pensacola), North, and Doyle Boston. The latter would likely get the most support from 7.9 racers, right folks?
Where we race (Sandusky Bay, Lake Erie) the mast head rigs seem to do better in the light stuff - they point high and keep speed up.
The 7.9 FK has a great reputation - hope you enjoy it !! You could have a killer boat there !!

Re: Sails
I have purchased sails from several makers over the years.
The last sail I purchased was a Doyle/Boston jib. It just seems to fit and sail the best. They are the guys that are really tuned into the 7.9
