Rudder pintles
I'm resealing all my deck hardware, But, how do you get to the rudder pintles. My arms don't bend that way, and I can't train the monkey.

Re: Rudder pintles
One option might be to cut a hole and get right at them, putting an access port in that place for future access.

I would not do that unless there was some evidence of water there.
Some 7.9's have had water issues in the transom - not mine (knock on gelcoat).

Re: Rudder pintles
My apologies, I meant an access port on the inside of the transom, to provide access to the back side of the pintles... it's a requirement as part of that to epoxy the cutout... also I'd strongly recommend using butyl tape to seal the access port trim ring.

My 6.7 has an access there. I thought it was from the factory. When I thump around those fittings it sounds different, but is solid.
