YANMAR 1GM COOLING

Post by captnstumpy »

NO WATER AT EXHAUST WHEN RUNNING? CHECKED OBVIOUS ...IMPELLER OK, PUMP SHAFT TURNS...Have rubber hose in bucket to suck water, but no suction into system? Had water flow at winterization last year...

You may have air in the system. Try elevating the intake hose above the engine if possible, insert funnel in it and pour water in. Cooling system sometimes needs to be 'burped'.

Thanks Pete, I spoke with Mack Boring today, they told me the same thing. Thanks, I'll give it a try...

Are you sure the impeller is OK? I had one separate from it's hub. By visual inspection it was fine -- just didn't turn!

I'll check, that's a possibility, in fact I'm ordering a new one regardless. I'll post my find, just in case its the pump itself. A $400 deal I guess...Thanks
