My setup has 2 blocks, but one on each side of the tang.

Did you also drill a hole through the keel lift bridge plate for the 4 to 1 purchase?
I'm also going changing from the OEM setup by installing cheek blocks on each side of the DB tang. As JD Kloss mentioned, Lewmar control cheek blocks (P# 29901460BK) are around $25 through Defender.
