Tuning full keel, masthead model

Post by badhabits »

I'm looking for tuning guide for full keel, masthead model. I have one of those 17, called Bad Habits.
Also would like to know the proper length of forestay.
It looks like original owner raced it, tuff luff, all instruments. But I have no contact with him.
Any advice specific to this model is appreciated.

Dagger board model has fractional rig, I believe full keel model has masthead rig. So fore stay length won't be the same

Bad habits apparently is looking for other fixed keel masthead owners to answer I presume.

Do we have other S2 7.9 fixed keel owners here?
Presently hull 399, "Ragtime" Blackwater Yacht Racing, Smith Mountain Lake, VA
Fomerly hull 68,"Rum Line," Paupack Sail Club, Lake Wallenpaupack, PA.

Yes, either , need standing rigging tensions.
Masthead also has 2 spreaders, so fractional specs won't work.
Appreciate.
