Mast Electrical Connector
Hi All! Excited to be a part of this group. I am the new owner of hull 351. The boat had quite a bit of deferred maintenance on it when I purchased it. One of the items was the electrical connector to the mast had completely rotted. I have been struggling to find a marine replacement. Please see attachment. It is a 4 pin connector....one for each of the 2 lights, plus a ground for each. I am sure I am not the only one who has had to replace this, so curious what you have done for this repair. Thank you in advance for any info on where to source this part.
Re: Mast Electrical Connector
sorry....apparently I cannot attach anything. Received this error message.

To post attachments I've uploaded them to the site imgbb.com, then included the url of the image between [ img ] [ /img ] tags.
You'll have to decide what you want on your mast for lights. When I got my boat (hull 493), it had a masthead/anchor light, and a deck light. It had no steaming light. The harness was the same as yours: 4 pins, two grounds, one hot for each of the two lights.
I've put a combo steaming/deck light on the mast, and all the bulbs are now LED. I will probably stick to a 4pin connector: a common ground, and three hot wires for the anchor light, steaming light, and deck light.
Make sure to fill the hole with some epoxy first, then drill the epoxy for pulling wires, so you don't get any water into the balsa core =).

Lots of 7.9 owners have removed the steaming light
because the main halyard is/was always getting hooked on it.
