It looks like an aft slug slot in the boom for the mainsail clew slug is now legal. Has anyone cut this slot for the slug yet? How did you do it?
What is a good spot for this? I’m thinking maybe a foot forward of the black band, so there is lots of room to ease the clew if necessary.
Would a rotozip work for cutting the slug entry? Or would a cutoff wheel be necessary?

12-14” is a good distance. I used a rotozip with a bit for cutting aluminum, cleaned up the edges with sanding disc. Well worth the effort if you take your main off after each sail.

Hello,
Do you have a photo of this modification?
I'd hate to get it wrong.
Thank you,
Sam

15” from back of boom. The cut 3.5” long, 5/8” wide. Tried to attach a photo, message i got was board has reached it’s limit. PM me with an email or a number to text too, and i’ll share a couple photos. Good luck.
