thanks for the tip-- I hadn't realized RYC had posted them. I am going to download all of the pics to my computer, and still burn some CDs for folks who can't do so. I have a pretty fast internet connection, and a decent CD burner, and am glad to make copies for anyone who wants them. I'll mail them to you if you give me an address, and I'll bring some copies to Carlyle for the regatta on 9/16-18, to Greer's Ferry on 10/8-9, and will have copies at our Equalizer here in Nashville on 10/28-29 (that's a plug to get y'all to head south for the 3-regatta Southern Equalizer Series).
I don't know how to load the pics onto the S2 website, but if someone is willing to give me instructions and access, I'd be glad to do it. also, as I mentioned above, I have a CD full of terrific photos from Sarnia's 2004 CCR that other class members who couldn't make it may want to see them. I'll await instructions from Chairman Tom as to how to get them on the website.
Please don't wait for me to do that. I'm no techie. Email John Leyland. JTLeyland at Yahoo.

Drake, great Idea, but I believe the jpeg files are too small if taken directly off the Racine web site., to make decent prints of any size, but still nice to look at on a computer. It would be nice to have them from the original form so people could get piture of their boat. One could charge a resonable fee to cover time and expense and send the pictures one desires in the better quality. Just an Idea. Jeff Mootz Skyhawk #250

Jeff is absolutely right-- I downloaded the pics off the RYC website last night, and made a CD copy. they are great shots, but they are low resolution (10-20 kb) so they cannot be used to make prints, or even to use as the desktop on your computer (which I have done with the terrific snaps from Sarnia, which are 400+ kb resolution-- or the ones we made at our Equalizer last year, which are 1+ mb, and are suitable for large prints-- come to our Equalizer this year, and you can get some of your boat. paid advertisement.).
anyway, I'm gonna contact Mark Rode at RYC and ask if anyone has the original snaps from the regatta, in a higher resolution, and if I can lay hands on them I'm willing to make copies for anyone who wants one, and help get them on the website. if it turns out the low resolution pics are all that exists, I will still be glad to send/give copies to anyone who wants them (they're pretty easy to download from the RYC website, since they are small files).
one thing I feel compelled to mention: in looking at the pics from Racine, I noticed many photos of S2 skippers and crews drinking alcohol and behaving raucously at evening functions after the racing, but before the regatta was concluded. as the skipper of a crew which took a solemn vow of sobriety, chastity and frugality (we wouldn't have stopped there, but we ran out of -ty's) we would like to lodge a formal protest and request for redress , since we were obviously racing at a distinct disadvantage throughout the regatta. if you doubt me, just look at the #s. we want our money back, or at least we want that 2nd place inboard trophy.
more to come when I learn more on the pics.

just got an e-mail from Judy Cook at RYC, one of the folks who was working so hard at the CCR to make it happen. she said she thought she could send me a CD of the original photos (which she confirmed had been reduced to low resolution for posting on their website), hopefully in a week or so (shockingly, she's back at her day job, and is apparently not able to drop everything and respond tonight).
so, my offer still stands, lemme know if you'd like a CD copy of the pics, and get me a mailing address (are class members' addresses somewhere on the website?).
if you went to the CCR, and you get a moment, you might go to the RYC website, link on Judy Cook's e-mail in their "contacts" section, and drop her a note of thanks for all of her hard work. we got to the CCR early (late Monday afternoon) and, along with Mark Rode and Craig Tobias, and others whose names escape me, she was putting in many hours to make sure we had a good event.

Folks from RYC,
thank you for the wonderful photos of the CCR. It was great to get an idea of how it was for those of us that couldn't be there in person.
Drake, on the PPYC website it says the Equalizer is Oct22, could you please confirm the date for me, because if it REALLY IS the following weekend, i'd be available to crew/race down there, which i would REALLY love to do seeing as though i haven't even seen water or a boat in person since June1. Thanks
Steve

Nashville Equalizer
Oops! I screwed up-- the Nashville Equalizer is the weekend of October 22-23. Last year we had 9 boats, including 5 local boats, Frequent Flyer, Relentless, and 2 Arkansas boats (Gary Roberts' and Bob Willet's boats). It was a great regatta, 6 races over 2 days, and we hope to draw more boats this year. C'mon down.
