Gelcoat color reference

Post by orion27 »

I'm lookng for a source of the original gelcoat of the 7.9. My boat is hull 511.
I assume the basic colors were pretty consistent over the entire run of the boat. Any help would appreciated.

The original color is nice to have for patching but years and years of sunshine change them so much that they aren't "original" anymore. I would contact the S2 folks and as if they have any cross references form back then to now.

This is easy, Mini-craft in Florida has what you need. I purchased some for #146 last year. I have a white hull so it was Irmine White. Match was perfect!

I bought it without wax and store it in the refrigerator. If wax is added it doesn't last very long. Wax helps with the sanding. If your doing a large repair I would add the wax.
