Rudder disks

I want to replace the disks that allow the rudder to swing smoothly up and down. These are two white thin disks approximately 12 inches wide and only 16th of an inch thick which are located between the cheek plates and the rudder itself. There is a hole in the middle to allow the bolt to go through. Does anyone know where I can find replacement for these disks?

Try using computer CD's, they work for a season, they they self destruct.

I supply 6" disc's X .010" thick with new cheek plates. Material is UHMW. You can get it from McMaster Carr.

Teflon tape applied to the inside go the rudder box works well also.

If you are going thru the trouble to align the rudder and bolt it to make it solid, Why do you need the disks to make it swing smoothly?
You are only moving it once a day and the wet surfaces should lub it enough. And if you are trailoring it, it would be a bear to get all those pieces lined up fot the bolt.

I use a UHMW adhesive 4" tape that I "stuck" on each side or rudder years ago that solves all problems. I grew weary of trying to thread the rudder bolt thru 4 unaligned holes; with the tape fixed on rudder, inserting the rudder takes 10 secs. Let me know if I can help.
